Five Color King: Our Story
A garden of wonder, a story of love
It all began with a butterfly—
not just any butterfly,
but the one my husband has loved most since he was a boy:
the Purple Emperor,
known in Korea as 왕오색나비—
a rare and regal visitor to the forest in June.
Its wings shimmer with five colors—
blue, brown, yellow, white, and a hidden red—
like a quiet rainbow in motion.
So we named this place
Five Color King
in honor of that beauty, that memory,
and the quiet magic that lives in transformation.
Here, children gather to explore and tell,
to plant and to play,
to wonder and to wait.
With real-world exploration and hands-on experiments, kids will develop a love for science, strengthen their English, and have tons of fun in nature!

Creativity + Art = Powerful Learning
The Science Behind It
When children learn through creativity and art, something extraordinary happens in their brains and hearts. It’s not just fun—it’s science-backed learning power. Here’s why:
1. Art Activates the Whole Brain
Studies using brain imaging show that drawing, painting, or sculpting lights up multiple brain regions at once—visual, motor, emotional, and memory centers.
When children sketch a butterfly or act out a story, they are making stronger neural connections than by reading or listening alone.
This “multi-sensory” experience helps information move from short-term to long-term memory.
2. Creativity Builds Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving
Creating art requires making choices—What color? What shape? What story to tell?
Research from the National Endowment for the Arts shows that students engaged in art-based learning perform better in problem-solving and innovative thinking tasks.
Creativity teaches kids to approach problems from different angles, which is essential for science, math, and even language learning.
3. Expression Strengthens Language & Communication
When children describe their artwork or tell stories through drama, they are practicing narrative skills and vocabulary.
A study published in The Arts in Psychotherapy found that children who regularly engage in expressive art activities show significant improvement in verbal expression and storytelling abilities.
4. Art Lowers Stress & Boosts Confidence
Art isn’t just academic—it’s emotional.
Creative activities lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone), making children feel safe to take risks in learning.
Completing a piece of art gives a sense of accomplishment, boosting self-esteem and encouraging a love of learning.
5. Joy Makes Learning Stick
Neuroscience tells us that positive emotions enhance memory. When children feel joy while painting, singing, or creating, the brain releases dopamine, which strengthens learning pathways.
The Takeaway
Art is not “extra”—it’s essential. When creativity meets education, children don’t just learn facts; they connect, imagine, and grow.
✨ Creativity + Art = Powerful Learning. Science proves it.
